UGLY FEBRUARY - MULTIPLE ICE STORMS

This has been one of the coldest and damp/wet February's that I can remember.  Yesterday was the third freezing period - just about one every week this month with yet another one due mid next week.

Going through lots of millet and sunflower seeds for the birds.  Our Rufous hummingbird may be two now as the one I saw today lacked a large spot in the gorget that the one we've had all winter has.  Large flock of Robins showed up today - first for the year.

TWO BIRTHDAY PARTY DAY

Yesterday we celebrated two family birthdays - Sherry turned 70 on Valentines Day and her father (Richard) will be 90 Monday. We ended up with 21 family members here most of the day and for a big dinner Sherry had prepared earlier this year and two birthday day cakes ( Red Velvet).

MY HOW THE TIME HAS SPED BY

It's been months since I last posted.  I've turned 74, Sherry will be 70 this week.  We survived a real scare when Sherry was diagnosed with a brain tumor just before we left on a 31 day birding tour of South Africa.  Well when we got back we got some good news, it appears she doesn't have a tumor, but it appears her Venous Anomaly bleed out and has left a smear on her MRI.  Only time will tell what is really going on, but right now we are living and happy

In South Africa we got 500+ species and 240+ lifers brining our life total to over 4000.

Later this year we will celebrate our 50th Anniversary.  God willing we will see many more too...
